What type of damage can result from a garage that floods every time it rains?

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

Our garage used to flood every time it rained heavily. Our yard had poor drainage (which we’ve since fixed) and the soil is basically clay, so the water would pour into the garage via the floor, through the siding and drywall etc. This caused our exterior siding to rot and also our interior drywall to mold and rot. What other potential damage could the water have caused? What should we keep an eye out for when we are repairing the damage? Thanks.

The garbage disposal is broken and water in the sink drains pretty slow. It is being fixed soon but in the meantime would it flood or something if I ran the dishwasher?

How to go about growing plants where it floods frequently?

I live in central Florida where it tends to flood every summer. I want to start growing some Marijuana plants that need to be well hidden, so they must be grown outside. The water gets to about 12 inches at worst. So, can 420 be grown in pots? Is there any way to do this without taking it inside?

I have some money I’m willing to spend if I need to

How do you dry up a flooded carpet?

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

It rained hard lastnight, and when it rains hard like that, my room tends to flood a bit. My carpet isn’t your normal type of carpet. It’s this cheap, scratchy flat thing, but it absorbs water like a towel. What can I use to dry it up? it’s not just a wet patch, it’s an entire room of carpet. The mildew smell is killing me X_X
I don’t really have money i can spend on it :/ Isn’t there some sort of powder you sprinkly over it that dries it a bunch?

I just bought a car with a bad mildew smell because it was in a flood?
