I just moved into a condo that was built a year ago. The circuit breaker for the washer/dryer tripped when I wasn’t even there for a few days or using any appliances and the washer/dryer wasnt even on. Why does it do that and shouldnt the breaker still be new and functioning well?

I’ve become officially fed up with my kitchen. All of the storage space is on the bottom, and it’s impossible to crawl under the counter each time I need a pot or pan. Not to mention, the appliances are a bit old. All and all, it’s just time for a change.

Where do I start? How do I know what I need to get? What new additions can I add to make the kitchen really usable?

diptube failed in our hot water heater and all lines are blocked with junk. where do i access the dishwasher to clean out the aerator at the incoming water?
the plastic dip tube was crumbling and the pieces have all come thru our hot water. now all of our faucets and appliances are blocked with the tiny bits of plastic.

I have a vacant home in Utah, built in yr 2001, and the only thing running is the furnace which is electric. The house is 3,800 sq ft and the only thing on is the furnace set at 55 degrees. There are no appliances in the home with the exception of a refrigerator and a gas stove.

Why would the gas bill for an empty home be 0 when the only thing that is running is the furnace but it’s electric?

I’m not sure if the water heater is on and if it’s gas or electric. However I shut off my water service so I don’t have water. My electric bill is for 1,109 kwh for this month and gas 0.

If my electric furnace is forced air why would it use so much in gas though?

Where does the energy that powers electrical appliance’s in one’s home come from?

The oven in my apartment is getting gross, so I think I need to clean it. It is not a self-cleaning oven, which is what was in my last place, so what is your best recommendation to clean it? Do I need a certain brush? A certain cleanser? How would I clean the racks? Don’t bother telling me to replace the oven because my landlords probably wouldn’t go for it. I think they happen to like the old, cream-colored appliances. Any help you could give me would be great!

With our house came a basic fake steel like sink that scratches easy. Can someone give me ideas on types of new sinks I can have installed that look good and are more resistant to scratches?

Does it waste energy when the refrigerator is right next to the range? In some houses, the kitchen has a lousy layout, and that’s the only way there’s enough room to have both appliances. In that case, is there anything I can do to minimize or eliminate the energy loss? I’m not an expert on kitchen design, especially when space is very limited.

We will be moving to a farmhouse with Tangerine color walls and dark natural wood cabinets. The appliances are white. Cant paint for awhile. Any theme suggestions?
