I bought a snow block making tool from wall-mart. It is just a small plastic form that you pack snow in. You keep making layers of these blocks with the top block off set half block from bottom block.when you get up about 3 or four layers you start to trim the blocks at an angle so they tip inward and curve to form roof. Mine looked a little more pointed than round but it was our first try last winter. The wet snow was heaver but held together better for me.When we were done we used more snow and just packed it into the holes. Then we used our gloved hands and rubbed the snow to give it a smooth finish. After it was all said and done it lasted for 3 weeks until my daughter thought it would be strong enough to hold her 70 pound butt. After we dug her out because she was buried from waste down it was pretty funny.I was really surprised to feel how warm it actually is inside.Try to do a search on igloo making ma by it will help. Hope this helped a little. Signed looking forward to snow so we can try again this year. P.S. I would watch kids closely if it starts to melt so it did not collapses when they were inside.

made from large blocks of ice, stacked a certain way….

i would say you need an extremely large ice cube tray, and a big freezer….
