How can I figure out how much it cost to install TILE?
November 29th, 2009 at 22:08I have 275 feet of kitchen and foyer, at 8 dollars a square ft, how much would it cost me in labor. I already have the tile. The guy is charging me 8 dollars a sq ft.
This is just to lay tile, nothing else

8$ a s/f for labor??? Unless it include s some kind of prep work or it s a marble, thats a bit steep. But to answer the question its 2200$ . Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there. GL

You can do it yourself and save. It is pretty simple, just wear gloves and press on for a minute using adhesive in addition to the tile adhesive.

Yeah, that sounds way too expensive, Bobby!
You should get some additional estimates–at least three (3) free estimates!
Call some additional flooring contractors around to give you these free estimates. To go direct, here’s a home improvement site that was referred to me, which has a portion of it focused on flooring installations, and it includes a link ad towards the middle that provides up to four free estimates from local floor contractors in your area (when you click below, on the following page, after scrolling down just a bit, you’ll find another link that says, "Find Flooring Contractors. Yeah, so get your free estimates. I’m sure you can get a better price than $8 a square foot.

it sounds expensive ONLY if he is not doing any demo and taking out another floor that is already in place. If he is taking out vinyl or tiles and installing tiles, then its a good price because he has to take away trash and pay workers.
