Why would a tree or any plant want metal inside of it?? thats like braces on teeth?

As the tree or bush grows
it will began picking up the fence inside of it

This will look ugly
part of a chain link fence in suspension

    It certainly isn’t the tree’s idea. It doesn’t want the metal inside of it. It’s your job to keep the tree from growing around the wire by moving the fence away from it.

    it might make the plant stronger; able to withstand wind or snowload.

    fence material is also used sometimes to make topiary. like bushes that get trained around frames to make shapes of animals or cartoon charaters.

    also, fruit trees sometimes get trained on espaliers; similar to grapevines but i guess none of this is actually Having to Have the plant Embedded in the metal.

    hidden metal in trees like from bullets or nails is often a danger to chainsaw operators because it can cause the saw to kick back.

    Trees dont ask for the metal to be there. Humans put it there. And its in the path of the trees growth, therefore the tree must grow around it.
