How do I stop my dark color clothes from coming out full of a white lint look covering it, esp black t-shirts?

October 13th, 2009 at 6:24

I am constantly rewashing my clothes over and over again cause they come out of the wash with a white film all over it, I have tried no fabric softener, doing the darks separate, gentle cycle, heavy cycle but no help, It is becoming a real problem, my next step is gonna be the laundry mat to see if its my machine but I don’t think it is. Please help!

switch to a Liquid soap that has fabric softener in it,
if your using a powder , that alone will clog up your mach and give you a build up [causing white lint ] its undissolved powder

Before loading dark clothes into the washer, wipe down the drum.
Make sure only darks are in the load and cut down on the amount of soap. Also put in 1/2 cup of vinegar. This will help remove the old soap buildup

Are you using Liquid soap? Cold water? Powder soap if not fully desolved can cause this. Once you get it on your clothes does it come off with a lint roller? I doubt if it’s your machine. My husband shares in doing the laundry and he sometimes throws darks in with white towels or doesn’t check the pockets and a tissue goes through. Your problem sounds more like the soap your using. I wish I could help you more.

Turn all black clothes inside out
And keep the washing of them all together be sure no tissues are caught some place, they make quite a mess
Leave towels till after you have washed black clothes
