What is the easiest way to clean spray paint off of a concrete floor of a garage?

October 6th, 2009 at 9:45

I was using spray paint in the garage and I accidentally sprayed a fair amount onto the concrete floor. What is the best way to clean this off? I was thinking maybe there is something (paint thinner?) that I could pour on, let it sit for a minute and then spray it with a hose. This would be a lot easier than scrubbing. Thanks for your suggestions.

paint remover is the product you want to apply.and then pressure wash.if this is not applicable then a 3m scrub pad or comparable product With paint remover such as a product called oops and elbow grease will do the job.these products are available at hardware, building supply and paint stores. you can rent apressuree washer or purchase a small electric powered unit at home depot etc for about sixty dollars which will come in handy for many other jobs around the house. you also can fix the scrubbing pad on a pole sander which will save your knees or purchase a abrasive floor stripping broom which will also work.all the suggestion will minimally mare floor. last but not least is Muratec acid used to clean concrete and flush with hose

paint thinner should get it off. That stuff is amazing.

yeah paint thinner should work, but you might need to do some scrubbing, or you could try using duct tape.
firmly press some duct tape on the paint and wait a few minutes then rip the tape off it might pull the paint off.Duct tape is pretty amazing and versatile :)

If the paint thinner does not work, try a product called OPPS. It is available in most good hardware stores and paint stores. It comes in an aerosol can, you may still have to rub with a brillo pad (steel wool)

I have used it to remove graffiti and stray magic marker writing from painted surfaces.

Spray carburator cleaner dissolves spray paint, and can be easily wiped up, and the remaining liquid will evaporate.
