Daylilies? Like these? http://www.bintgoddess.com/plantpics/orange_daylily.jpg

Let them go. The tall stem will turn brown and you can pull it loose and discard it. I have dayliles all over my property (they originally belonged to my great-grandmother 60 years ago) and I'm constantly pulling and discarding brown stems.

Cut the flower stalk off and wait for the leaves to start turning yellow or brown. Then cut the leaves back to about 4-6 inches. Mulch in the fall to protect from the cold. If you do want to transplant any of them wait until it is colder right before or after the first frost.

Let them go, and as they turn brown you can pull them out. It won't take long.
