What is the best kind of paint for metal surfaces?

i am going to paint some stuff that is metal. what kind of paint is the best for it? it needs to be able to with stand some wear and rain that kinda stuff.

    Check paint stores, there are spray paints that withstand a lot of wear and tear. Roxanne

    well if you sand and prime first and kind of paint.
    if your latex try a metallic or latex based paint and put it on lightly with three or more coats, make sure its not at a 90 degree angle where it will run of cource.

    use some form of etch primer, i use white knight s.l.s etch primer. then use a rust guard metal paint over the top, i use white knight rust guard
