Is changing a door lock difficult to do?

September 29th, 2009 at 17:31

I have a deadbolt door lock for my condo that I’d like to change. The new lock will be a deadbolt as well. Same brand, same size.

There are two screws involved.

Is this difficult to do? Is an electric screwdriver recommended?

More than likely you do not need anything but a screw driver. If it is the same model of lock then there is no need to change all of the parts ether you can just change the cylinder and keep the new one until the old one is faded or use it on anther lock.

Its very easy. 2 screws for the dead bolt, 2 screws for the door plate. You dont need a power screw driver, just a philps head.

It’s not very hard at all, but depending on what type of material you’re screwing into, you may need an electric screwdriver.
